ABOUT The Race?

Who Are The Organisers Of This Event?


The Surat Marathon 2018 - Run for New India is organised by Surat Future Foundation LLP that works towards development initiatives in the city and towards a clean Tapi movement.

When And Where Is The Event?


The Surat Marathon 2018 – Run for New India is scheduled on 25th February 2018 (Sunday) in the evening at Surat (Gujarat). The start time of the runs is between 6:30 PM and 8:00 PM – yes it is a night marathon.

What Are The Event Categories?


The event will have 4 run categories – 42.2KM Timed Run (Full Marathon), 21.1 KM Timed Run (Half Marathon), 10 KM Timed Run and 5 KM Fun Run.

What Is The Venue?


Venue of the event will be in the progressive South-West zone of Surat. The exact start & finish point of the race will be announced shortly.

How Is The Terrain / Run Route?


The Surat Marathon 2018 - Run for New India is a city run with a flat course on almost the entire route. There will, however, be a flyover (to and fro) on the way – the Anuvrat Dwar Flyover on Udhna – Magdalla Road.

How Will Be The Weather?


The weather in Surat on that weekend will be pleasant. The forecast of the race day puts the temperature in the range of 27 to 18 degree Celsius. Please check any weater forecast website or app for more information.

Are There Any Cut Off Times For Both The Event Categories?


Yes, there will be a cut-off time for the timed races. For 42.2 KM it is 6:00 Hours, 21.1 KM it is 3:00 Hours and for 10 KM it is 1:45 Hours.

Are There Pacers Available For Both The Event Categories?


The pacers will be there for all the categories. Details will be announced at a later date.

Will There Be Aid Stations And Emergency Medical Assistance Available Along The Route?


Yes, there will be ample of aid on the route. There will be ambulances going to and fro on the route. Also at the finish line there will be a fully equipped medical camp.

Will There Be A Traffic Blockage On The Race Track?


Yes, no vehicular traffic will be allowed on the race track through the race duration (up to the cut-off time).

What About The Lodging For Out-Of-Towners?


The organisers are not providing any lodging for out of station runners. The nearby hotels are The Grand Bhagwati (TGB), Hotel Ginger, Hotel Krishna, Hotel Oyster, Hotel Welcome Inn and many more.

Are There Any Other Terms And Conditions?

ABOUT REGISTRATION?

How Can I Register For The Event?


You may register for the event through the link on the website. For offline registration you may visit one of our designated partners, details of which are provided under registration link.

Is There An Age Criteria?


There is a minimum age criteria for all the 3 run categories. For 21.1 KM run, minimum age should be 16 years; for 10 KM run it should be 10 years and for 5 Km run it should be 10 years. This age will be considered as per the date of the event and not the date of registration. However, any person less than 16 years of age needs a parents consensus form to be submitted along with the form.

Is There Any Charge For Registration?


Yes there is a deposit in form of registration fee for all participants. It is Rs. 1800 for 42.2 KM, Rs 1500 for 21.1 KM run, Rs 1200 for 10 KM run; Free for 5 KM run.

What Facilities Will I Get Upon Registering?


Each registered participant under 42.2KM, 21.1 KM and 10 KM run shall get running t-shirt, BIB (with timing chip) and will be eligible to on-route support and post-run refreshment. In addition, those who finish their run will also be awarded a finisher’s medal and a digital certificate.

What Is The Last Date Of Registration For The Event?


The online registration will close at 12:00 Midnight on 18th February 2018. Offline Registration will close at 6:00 PM on 22nd February,2018.

What If I Want To Register Offline?


We will begin offline registration from 10th January 2018 onwards. Details of form collection and submission forms are in the 'REGISTRATION' section of our website.
